LG ARTCOOL Gallery: choosing air conditioning around the room design

A picture-frame indoor unit changes the visual brief, but model identity, access and airflow still deserve attention.

Sometimes the biggest objection to fitted air conditioning is not the technology but the look of a white rectangle on a carefully designed wall. LG's ARTCOOL Gallery family takes a different approach, using a framed front rather than the familiar long wall-unit shape.

Start with the exact Gallery version

LG's current Gallery information describes a customisable photo panel and three-way airflow. Product generations and names can be confusing: do not assume that a screen, mirroring feature or specification seen in a Gallery campaign belongs to every Gallery Special model. Our catalogue listing and the final manufacturer model sheet must agree before you order. LG's Gallery product information.

Design the whole wall

Consider the unit's depth, the view from the doorway and the pipe route as well as the front artwork. Ask the installer to mark out the proposed position before decorating. Leave the required clearances and access: a gallery arrangement that looks balanced is no help if adjacent shelves obstruct operation or servicing.

Appearance is one part of comfort

Think about where people sit and how air will move around the room. Ask which operating modes and controls are provided on the precise version quoted. A visually discreet appliance can still need careful positioning; an unusual shape is not proof that it will be suitable for every lounge.

Where we would put it on the shortlist

Gallery is worth discussing when the visual treatment is a priority and you are willing to compare the complete fitted cost. For a utility room or a budget-led bedroom, a conventional Alpha or other wall split may be the more straightforward brief.

Ask for an itemised proposal covering the indoor/outdoor pairing, accessories, installation and commissioning. We have not carried out a comparative Gallery performance test, so this guide does not award it a comfort or efficiency score. It explains the questions to resolve before paying for the design-led option.
