Meaco Arete One 20L: understand the moisture problem first
Extraction ratings, laundry use and filter upkeep: how to decide whether this dehumidifier belongs in your home.
Checked 7 October 2026. Specification-led buying guide. Not a hands-on review.
Condensation on a window can make a dehumidifier feel like an obvious purchase. It is still worth identifying the source of the moisture and how the room is used. Buying an appliance should not delay investigation of a leak, building defect or a persistent ventilation problem.
Know which Arete you are comparing
ClimateCart lists the MeacoDry Arete One 20L. Meaco sells both One and Two generations, so app, display, fan and timer features should not be assumed to carry across. The manufacturer describes the One 20L as a dehumidifier and air purifier and provides extraction data under stated conditions. Meaco's One 20L information.
Twenty litres is not a tank promise
The headline extraction class is not the same thing as how much the tank holds, and it does not mean your home will produce that amount every day. For a useful comparison, look at the published test temperature and humidity, then consider the conditions where you intend to use it. A chilly outbuilding and a lived-in laundry room are not equivalent tests.
Plan the routine
Decide where the unit can stand with the required airflow space, how you will empty the tank and whether a permitted continuous-drain arrangement is practical. Keep electrical equipment clear of dripping laundry and follow the manual rather than balancing it wherever a socket happens to be.
Allow for cleaning and filter replacement where applicable. An air-purifier description does not remove the need for upkeep, and this guide makes no claim to treat allergies or other medical conditions.
Our buying view
Arete One 20L is a relevant option for someone deliberately shopping for moisture control, not a substitute for refrigerated cooling or a repair to a damp building. Compare the exact One specification with the newer Two only if those additional features matter. We have not tested either unit in your property, so discuss the room conditions before choosing a size.
